About The Merry Camper

The Merry Camper was born 12 years ago in the heart of Essex, when the publican of The Merry Fiddlers Pub created a certified campsite and started organising local rallies. What began as a passion project with great food, live music and a few summer campers quickly grew into a thriving club. Over the years, we’ve hosted events all over the South East — from soulful food festivals and VW rallies to themed weekends and charity fundraisers. Today, with more than 250 members, The Merry Camper is a vibrant community of like-minded people who love the outdoors and good times. We believe in keeping things friendly, safe, family-run, and full of character. We also help landowners set up certified sites so they can host campers under The Merry Camper banner, keeping the spirit of outdoor community alive and well.
